Reflection
We recently had a two-part workshop at med school on how to create a medical blog, and it opened up a whole new world for me. The first session was a theory class where we discussed what a medical blog can be: a platform to educate, to reflect, to connect. We explored topics like the role of digital professionalism, the power of storytelling in medicine, and how blogs can bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and real human experiences. I realized that blogging isn’t just writing it’s communicating medicine in a way that’s both accurate and relatable.
The second class was practical, and that’s when things really clicked. We got hands-on: setting up our own blog pages, choosing templates, drafting our first posts. It felt exciting to apply what we’d just learned and actually bring it to life. There was a sense of ownership like this little space on the internet was mine, where I could grow as a writer and a future doctor.
What I appreciated most was how the class made medical blogging feel accessible, not just for tech experts or senior doctors, but for students like me, who are still learning but have so much to share.
Our teacher Asma miss was super nice and friendly, helping us through every step. The thoughtful and cute gift she gave before we dismissed the classes was a major highlight. 💕
